About me
Carly Marcotte - Clinical Counsellor
Registered Professional Counsellor - Candidate (CPCA #4299)
I greatly value and recognize the privilege of being able to accompany and support individuals through difficult times in their lives to a place of greater happiness, fulfilment, and resiliency. I promise to offer you a non-judgemental, listening ear every step of the way.
Although I believe that we all continuously learn and grow, it is clear that my past experiences have enriched and influenced my current approaches. I have witnessed and navigated some of the distinctive challenges affecting our generation. As a former Exercise Physiologist, I understand the struggles that can come with a negative body image, low self-esteem and self-worth, weight loss, process addictions, and injuries. During my time in this career I spent numerous years as a civilian employee with the Canadian Armed Forces. I have also spent my life, and some working years, around the agriculture industry. As such, I thoroughly understand the immense and unique stresses and challenges that come from these professions and lifestyles.
By using a collaborative and integrated approach comprised of CBT, strength-based, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based theories and techniques, I’ll help you navigate life’s challenges by accessing and utilizing your strengths and building upon your innate capabilities to create the life you envision.
